Editorial standards

How we review internet providers.

ScoutRoo reviews published provider information using the same criteria: pricing structure, speeds, availability, contracts and customer experience. Publication dates show when our editorial content was last reviewed.

Pricing over the full term

We score the year-two price, equipment fees, installation charges and early termination fees — not just the promotional headline rate.

Speed you actually get

Advertised speeds are checked against real-world performance ranges by connection type: fiber, cable, 5G home internet, DSL and satellite.

Terms and fine print

Data caps, contract length, price-lock guarantees and bundling requirements each affect a provider's score.

Availability and service

Coverage footprint, installation wait times and published customer-satisfaction results round out the rating.

Independence and how we make money

ScoutRoo is free to use. When you order service through us we may earn a commission from the provider. Commercial relationships do not determine what we write. Comparison results use illustrative plan details until the provider confirms exact-address availability, current pricing, fees and terms.
