Start two weeks out

Standard service starts take one to three business days. Same-day and next-day starts are usually available for an expedite fee, but planning ahead avoids it entirely.

What you need to enroll

Have your new service address, move-in date, ID, and previous supplier information ready.

  • Exact service address, including unit number
  • Requested start date (the day you get keys, not move-in day)
  • Photo ID and Social Security number for the credit check
  • A letter of credit from your old supplier can waive the deposit

Do not forget to stop the old service

Schedule a stop date at your old address for the day after you leave. Overlapping one day protects you if the move runs long.

Questions people ask

Can I transfer my current plan?

Often yes, if the new address is in the same utility territory. It also avoids a new deposit.

How do I avoid a deposit at a new address?

Use a letter of credit, pass the credit check, or choose a prepaid plan.

Electricity is a separate ScoutRoo service from home internet. Rates shown are illustrative market averages — confirm terms on the supplier's facts label before enrolling.
